Goodbye 2009.

I have my resolutions just like most people. This year I really hope to be able to accomplish the majority of them. I have 2 beautiful motivators this year to push me along!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

1) Learn to cook.

2) Save some money.

3) Curb my shopping habits (see above)!

4) Keep my house and van clean.

5) Take a picture (at least) of my kids everyday.

6) Spend less time on the computer.

7) Write in my blog more, I know contradicts the above statement, but I want to write an entry everyday while avoiding other websites I frequent to often.

8) Potty train Mason.

9) Look into going back to school, and enroll if possible.

10) Work on owning a home a reality!

What about you? What are your resolutions?

Even though I've had bad times in 2009, I've also had great times. Buggy was born and has brought a smile to my face everyday since that day. Mason turned two, became a big brother, and has grown so much, learned so much and I just couldn't be prouder of him.

With 2010 I welcome the changes it brings, and hope for more happy times. I'm happy to think of the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and hopefully many many more years I will spend watching my kids grow up.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Santa Clause is coming to town. (in this case, has came to town!)

Mason may be scared to sit on Santa's lap but he wasn't afraid to tell him what he wanted, "a Kangaroo". I have no idea where he got that from, but anytime you asked that's what he would say. And it would be very unSanta like not to bring said Kangaroo, or two, in our case =)

We went to bed with our bellies full and happy thoughts floating through our minds only to wake up with the bottom of our tree filled with all sorts of presents! And what would you think would be the first thing out of our almost three year olds mouth??

"HUH, Oops, that's not supposed to happen." LoL, I never would have imagined that reaction. (I wish I could post the video, but it takes so long to upload.)

He seemed a little off put at first, taking his time with each present, wanting each toy removed from it's packaging before moving on to the next gift, but as the day wore on and he saw both sets of grandparents he was a pro! Hopefully Santa takes it a little easier next year, kinda overwhelmed this year with the amount of toys he got.

We are still trying to find places for them all, and working on new organization techniques.

Here are a few from our Christmas day, wish i had the time to make a photo layout, but tonight I'm simply too lazy!

The kids gifts weren't even because we had to explain to Santa that Kaylee really didn't need too many new toys as she has all of Mason's toys and there really isn't a need to get new ones!

Ironically, his first present he opened was one of his Kangaroos!

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Buggy was pretty confused by the whole business. This was pretty much her expression for the majority of the morning!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Mason became a pro by the time we got to the 3rd set of present opening houses.

Even Buggy eventually came around!

I disappeared for a bit.

So it's been awhile since I last posted. Honestly, I'm not sure what I had expected when I started this blog..instant MckMama success I guess. Obviously not so! I'm not looking to be paid, just thought I would have a following, but then it struck me..I can't have a following if I'm hardly ever posting!

Besides, I started this blog in the hopes of remembering things from my kids lives that I might not remember further down the road, so I'm going to focus on that and not how many people look at my blog at any given time.

So needless to say, I've got some catching up to do! I haven't even posted about Christmas, I haven't sized down any of the photos I want to post, and I don't even know what I want to say. LoL.

Let's get the catching up started by saying "Baby, it's cold outside"

Demonstrated by Buggy the bear =)

Today he played.

Today I took Mason out to play in the snow. He didn't get to stay out long because he doesn't have proper snow boots. Guess from now on we will have to buy some at the end of every winter season for the next year. It's pretty deep so he was complaining that it was "too bumpy" to walk on, but once I kicked some snow away and made a little spot for him to stand in he was pretty happy.

He attempted to make a snowman but unfortunately the snow wasn't very packable today. I laid him down to get a snow angel but he put his hands up to cover his eyes from the sun and got cold snow all over his face! He wasn't very happy about that.

But none the less I got some good shots and he had fun in the process. So I say overall it was a productive morning!

Snow Day.

We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning. Not that I'm very happy, I am not a fan of snow and hate driving anywhere in it even more. Luckily, it's the weekend and I can stay in and snuggle with my two favorite kiddos!

JB has a family Christmas party tomorrow and most of the people live where the snow hit the worst, so I'm not sure if they will make it down or not. We, of course, will attempt to make it, but I won't be going anywhere if conditions are still like they are today.

If snow allows me to always get such cute shots, well, it can just snow for the rest of my life then.

The art of teething.

At least that's what I think Buggy is doing. She is drooly and wants everything within reach in her mouth. Her favorites? Her hands, my hands or daddy's hands. Usually whichever is closest and easiest. Getting pictures of her without her hands in her mouth has become nearly impossible. But when life hands you lemons..make lemonade. I must say, even with half of her face obscured by hands and drool, she is still dang cute!

Why Mommy shouldn't bake.

This is by far the best Christmas since our son was born. This year he is so into the lights, the songs, the music. He loves to see Christmas decorations up and helping us make Christmas crafts.

I got it into my head that he would just love to help Mommy bake some cookies. I should have realized that Mommy can't cook or bake...we have a gas stove and everything I attempt ends up burnt, no matter if I stand over it and never take my eyes off of it...it still burns!

I gathered all of the things we would need to make these (store bought) sugar cookies festive. Sugar sprinkles in red and green? Check! Holiday cookie cutters? Check! We had the perfect rainy day, and Buggy was asleep in her bouncy seat, so it was go time. Bubs was all into it, I would roll out the dough and he would choose the cookie cutter and press it down. That step was easy and even easier was doing the sprinkles, he just loved shaking the jar and watching them come out.

So the time came to place them in the oven, I had two trays of cookies to go in, first mistake, I was too lazy to only do one tray at a time and decided to put one at the bottom. 9 minutes on the timer, we were anticipating that dinger going off. When it buzzed we both ran in to see if they were done, he was at the door to the kitchen (for safety reasons), put my glove on, opened the oven and *dun dun dun*, they weren't done yet! The ones on the bottom were obviously farther along than the top so I switched them and set the timer for 5 more minutes.

Hoped on the computer to look something up really quick, and that's when I saw it, smoke coming from the back of the stove. I hop up run into the kitchen, I was really scared that when I opened the door they would be on fire, luckily they were just black and smoking. I pulled them out, turned on the oven fan, ran around trying to open up windows, but the smoke detectors went off anyway, waking the baby up, and sending my already frazzled nerves into overtime! Bubba seemed unfazed, just looked at me and said "Mommy, smoke detector". LoL, thanks kid.

In the process of opening windows I broke one and it came crashing down on me.

And that's why Mommy shouldn't bake..

Four Lane Highway

This is not my first shot at blogging, but I'm determined to make it work this time.

I have two young kids and I want to remember everything about this time.

I guess I should introduce myself, my name is Nicole and I'm a 26 year old SAHM*. I love to read romance books, watch trash reality t.v., scrapbook, play World of Warcraft, but my biggest and most loved hobby is photography.

*stay at home mom.

I have an adorable (almost 3 year old) son, Mason. He is a lover of tractors, Lego, cars, and his baby sister.

I also have an adorable (almost 5 month old) daugther, known to me as buggy or bug, a nickname I use at home quite a bit. She is a lover of her blanket, pacifier, Mommy and Daddy, and especially her big brother!
