Five Q Friday.

Head on over to My Little Life to check out more answers to these 5 questions and link up your answers as well!

1. Do you prefer your ice cream in a bowl or in a cone?
It depends on the situation. If I am driving I want a cone..and I love cones when they get all soggy! But my favorite is a bowl of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and pretzels chopped up on top!

Unfortunately, with a bowl it seems like I have a problem with portion control, so maybe I should stick to cones!

2. What three things do you love the smell of?
I guess it's kind of weird but I love the smell of baby breath, well until they are about 9 months or so..then it becomes a little weird..9 months might even be pushing it!

I love the smell of my pillow, it's like an addiction, my husband loves the smell of it too, he just hugs it and smells it.

Cinnamon, reminds me of fall, reminds me of Christmas, reminds me of my childhood...just a great smell!

3. Giftcards or no? (In regards to gift giving...)
In this day and age I love to give gift cards, does take some of the imagination process of gift giving away, but for those people that are awful gift givers, the gift card is a life saver!

4. What sports did you play in high school if any and do you still play them?
I never played sports in High School, I tried out for Softball, but didn't make it. I don't really have the sport "bone". But that was fine by me, I wouldn't have been able to play once I reached working age anyway because I had to get a job at 15.

5. Were you in band in high school? What instrument did you play?
Wasn't in a band in high school, but I did in Elementary. I played the flute...I had no idea what I was doing, in fact we had a concert and I just sat up there and pushed all kinds of buttons and pretended to blow into the hole because I had no idea about the notes or how to play them!

Photo Challenge: Hands

Been awhile since I posted an entry for I Heart Faces (click this link to go directly to photo challenge) photo challenge. This week the challenge is hands and doesn't need to have a human face present!

This is my hand and my son's when he was a baby. It has remained one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken.

For some reason their button code wasn't working for me. Click the link above my picture or below to head to their website!

"In Awe"

This was my daughter's first time at the beach, even though we only live 30 minutes away, it has taken us over 2 years to get her there. We ended up hitting the perfect time to take her, it was low tide and there were small islands of sand all along the beach that she could walk out to and play, and the water at it's highest was at her belly. It was a beautiful day and she had a great time, so glad we finally got to take her!

This is my first ever time linking up with Five Question Friday over at My Little Life. Now that I am back to blogging a bit more I have decided to link up to blog hops from some of my favorite blogs. Head over to check out other answers and maybe link up your own!

1. What is your go to comfort food or sweet?

Well, this all depends on how I am feeling or what kind of mood I am in. If I want something sweet then I am all about the brownies, even better with some ice cream and warm chocolate sauce. Something not sweet is pot roast, I just recently learned how to make this and I LOVE it!

2. What is the most romantic place you've ever been to?

I am not a huge traveler, so I haven't been to too many places, but I only live 30 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and I used to date a surfer and we would get up early and watch the sun rise over the beautiful.

3. What is your favorite thing about fall/Halloween?

My favorite thing about fall is the leaves changing and the crisp smell in the air. It is absolutely my favorite season of all. Unfortunately, I am not a huge fan of Halloween.

4. How would you spend 24 hours alone?

As a mother of two young kids I dream about this often! I would get a hotel room with a beach/ocean view and balcony, no point in staying home because then I would be forced to clean or stare at the huge mess that is my house. I would watch the sunset and sunrise over the water, I would read on my balcony and walk the beach all day long, I would sleep with the balcony door open so I could go to sleep listening to the waves.

5. Does you husband bring you flowers? Are you the bring-me-flowers type of girl?

My husband has brought me flowers a hand full of times in our time together. While it is a sweet gesture and they are beautiful, I am not really a flower girl and would rather save that money or spend it elsewhere!

Chicken and mushroom.

I am joining Finding My Feet's slow cooker link up this week! This recipe is nothing fancy but will fill your belly and keep you warm and happy on a chilly night!

Economy pack (family pack?) of chicken legs, I think there are usually about 12 in a pack. I have also done thinly sliced chicken breasts with the chicken legs because my husband hates picking around bones.

1 family size can of Cream of Mushroom soup

salt and pepper

I start by salt and peppering each chicken leg or breast on both sides, layer the bottom of the crock pot with a little bit of the mushroom soup, place legs/breasts salted side down until you have a single row on the bottom of the pot, salt and pepper again, then just do another layer of chicken salted side down, salt and pepper chicken again and throw the rest of the soup over the top of the chicken..I do sort of try to spread it around so it isn't in one heap. Cook on low for 10 hours. I have cooked this on 6 and 8 hours before, both are good but they don't have the juicyness that the 10 hours give I would stick to 10.

Might not sound fancy but it's delicious..hope someone tries it! Sorry I don't have any pictures of this, I had just cleaned out my phone gallery the other day and it was one that go deleted!

Be sure to check our Finding My Feet for more recipes and share a crock pot recipe of your own!

"Cute Buggy"
033 copy2

My daughter's nickname is Buggy, which is where the title came from! I had my husband construct a backdrop holder for me, I grabbed my daughter and shot some pictures of her to test it out...I think it suits my purposes!

Pinterst Recipe Finds.

I haven't blogged in so long, it's pretty ridiculous. I occasionally throw in a photo for some type of challenge or another blog hop but as for sitting down and actually writing something...yeah hasn't happened.

I decided while laying in bed one night when I couldn't sleep that I should start blogging about recipes that I have found on Pinterest. These will be recipes that I have actually baked and eaten. I will include pictures (hopefully) the link to the original site that I found the recipe on and whether or not it was a success and what my family thought!

First up...Lasagna Roll-Ups

Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to get a picture but mine looked pretty similar to hers.

8 lasagna noodles

1/2 pound lean ground turkey
1 T olive oil
1 clove garlic
1/2 onion
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 egg
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Heat a large pot of water to boiling over high heat. When it reaches a boil, salt and drop noodles. Stir occasionally and cook to just al dente. You want to leave them slightly more firm since you'll be baking the pasta. Drain noodles and set aside.

Meanwhile in a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and onion and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add turkey and brown. When almost cooked through, add tomatoes and reduce heat to medium low. Simmer for about 15 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a small bowl, lightly beat egg. Add ricotta, Parmesan and stir together. Spray pan lightly with cooking spray. Add enough sauce to lightly cover the bottom of the pan. To assemble, on a drained noodle, add a spoonful of ricotta mixture. Top with a spoonful of meat sauce and roll up. Place seam side down in pan. Continue until you've used all the noodles. Top each with a little more meat sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella. Bake approximately 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

They were extremely very picky daughter loved it! My husband said it was the most delicious thing I had ever made...that is until he tried what my next post will be about!

You will see that I eliminated some of her ingredients, we have food allergies in my family so I had to eliminate the fresh herbs and also the red pepper sure to check out her link to see her original recipe and check out her pictures.

Also wanted to add the next time I make them I will make them with beef instead of turkey, the turkey was a little on the dry side for my taste.

Stayed tuned for my upcoming posts, I will post a day or two after I make the far I have made 3, the next two I have pictures of the finished product, but now that I have decided to do this I will start taking pictures of all the steps!

Hope anyone who see's this or reads this, will make and enjoy them..that is if I even still have any readers!
